The screenplay by Blake-Thomas centers on Charley Stevens, a queer teenager portrayed by Blake-Thomas, who relocates to the secluded town of Latigo Springs, the childhood home of her recently deceased mother, Maya. Shortly after her arrival, Charley begins to experience unsettling nightmares that allude to a traumatic incident from the past, suggesting the reasons behind Maya's departure from the town in her youth. Charley, who bears a striking resemblance to her mother, grapples with an uncontrollable affliction that allows her to inadvertently bring about misfortune. Overwhelmed by her circumstances, Charley finds solace in her classmate Val (Hu), developing deep feelings for them. As Charley delves deeper into the town's hidden truths, her curse intensifies, causing harm to those she loves. Armed with her mother's old journals, Charley is resolute in her quest to overcome any challenges in order to uncover the mysteries surrounding her mother and Latigo Springs. David Lipper and Robert A. Daly Jr. are producing the film for Latigo Films, in collaboration with the mother-daughter team of Elizabeth and Isabella Blake-Thomas from Mother & Daughter Entertainment, along with Kipp Tribble, Keli Price, Abbie Georganna, and Kenny Yates.
